According to an authoritative announcement, China has comprehensively enhanced and optimized its visa facilitation policies—extending unilateral visa-free entry through December 31, 2026, and expanding transit visa-free stays to 240 hours. Visa-Free Policy
China has extended its unilateral visa-free policy for citizens of the following countries through December 31, 2026. Furthermore, Swedish citizens will be granted visa-free entry from November 10, 2025, through December 31, 2026.
List of Countries: France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, Ireland, Hungary, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, Australia, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal, Greece, Cyprus, Slovenia, Slovakia, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Monaco, Liechtenstein, Andorra, the Republic of Korea, Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Malta, Estonia, Latvia, Japan, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Uruguay, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, and Bahrain.
240-Hour Visa-Free Transit Policy
Currently, the 240-hour visa-free transit policy is implemented for foreign citizens from 55 countries at 65 entry-exit ports spanning 24 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the Central Government of China.
Eligible travelers holding valid international travel documents and confirmed connecting tickets for transit via China to a third country or region within the prescribed timeframe may apply for visa-free transit at the exit-entry border inspection authorities of the applicable ports.
